Posted:

Romney pauses during remarks to the Franklin County Lincoln Day Dinner in Greencastle, PennsylvaniaWASHINGTON (Reuters) - In picking a vice presidential running mate, Republican Mitt Romney wants to avoid the Sarah Palin syndrome. The presumptive 2012 nominee, Romney is expected to make a steady, "do-no-harm" choice and avoid the type of "Hail Mary" selection that Palin represented, in his bid to unseat President Barack Obama. ...

Posted:

COMMENTARY| Former special council to Richard Nixon Charles Colson died Saturday. He was known as Nixon's "hatchet man," according to National Journal. Because Colson was sent to jail over his role in the Watergate scandal, his death has brought up again the biggest lesson of any presidential scandal, including Watergate -- presidents who act corrupt don't go to jail, for if anyone is going to be locked up, it will be those who have top access to presidents.

Posted:

As someone who studies politics, I am not very worried about Iran using this technology as much as I am concerned by the door this opens for the nation. The thought of Iran sharing this technology with other countries and terrorist organizations scares me the most.

The actor who stormed onto the scene of one of the worst natural disasters in history two years ago has certainly not lost interest. Defying skeptics, he has put down roots in Haiti, a country he hadn't even visited before the January 2010 earthquake, and has become a major figure in the effort to rebuild. (AP Photo/Ramon Espinosa)Sean Penn no longer lives in a tent, surrounded by some 40,000 desperate people camped on a muddy golf course. And he no longer rushes about the capital with a Glock pistol tucked in his waistband, hefting bags of donated rice and warning darkly of a worsening humanitarian crisis.
