FILE - In a Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 file photo, Army Pfc. Bradley Manning, center, steps out of a security vehicle as he is escorted into a courthouse in Fort Meade, Md., for a pretrial hearing. Manning is charged with aiding the enemy by causing hundreds of thousands of classified documents to be published on the secret-sharing website WikiLeaks. He acknowledged in pretrial testimony on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 that he tied a bedsheet into a noose and contemplated suicide after he was first arrested. His testimony appeared to support the military's argument that it was trying to protect Pfc. Bradley Manning from himself by keeping him under strict isolation. Manning's defense team argues the conditions he experienced for nine months at the Marine Corps brig in Quantico, Va., were too harsh, well past the time he was still having suicidal thoughts, and his charges should be dropped because of it.
