Mugabe is insisting he remains Zimbabwe's only legitimate ruler and has balked at mediation by a Catholic priest to allow the 93-year-old former guerrilla a graceful exit after a military coup, sources said on Thursday. "In the interest of the people, Mr. Robert Mugabe must resign and step down immediately," Tsvangirai, leader of the Movement for Democratic Change, told a news conference, reading from a statement. |

Indonesia smugglers stuffed exotic birds in pipes: police Posted: 16 Nov 2017 12:32 AM PST Smugglers who allegedly stuffed 125 exotic birds into drain pipes have been arrested in Indonesia, officials said Thursday, as part of a bid to clamp down on a lucrative illegal trade in wildlife. Four men have been charged after 41 endangered white cockatoos and 84 eclectus parrots were discovered squashed into plastic piping that had been cut and sealed at each end by wire. Police said the men were arrested in four separate locations in eastern Indonesia, and are part of a suspected wildlife trafficking ring. |

The vessel, called Prince Vladimir (Князь Владимир—transliterated as Knyaz Vladimir) is an improved version of the original Project 955 SSBN, three of which have been completed for the Russian Navy. Compared to the three older Project 995 boats, Prince Vladimir has a better acoustical stealth, better electronics and improved living spaces for the crew. |

The last radio contact with the San Juan submarine was on Wednesday, when it was 430km off the coast of the southern province of Chubut, in the area of San Jorge bay, a naval spokesman said on Friday. The spokesman, Enrique Balbi, told local television that as there was no indication of problems from the submarine, it could not yet be termed lost. |

"He will not step down," Kayla Moore said at a news conference on the steps of the state capitol in Montgomery. "He will not stop fighting for the people of Alabama." The former Alabama Supreme Court chief justice's campaign has been in turmoil since the Washington Post published a story last week detailing the accounts of three women who claim Moore pursued them while they were teenagers and he was in his 30s. |
