French lawmakers extend military action against IS in Iraq Posted: 13 Jan 2015 12:59 PM PST French lawmakers on Tuesday overwhelmingly approved continuing air strikes against Islamic State jihadists in Iraq as part of a US-led coalition. France joined the coalition in September and has carried out a handful of strikes on the militants but has not joined the United States in its air war against the Islamic State group in Syria. |
