Posted: 07 Dec 2012 02:45 PM PST Oh, brother. It seems that nearly ten years ago that rapper guy Psy — you know, that one who sings "Gangnam Style" and will never sing anything else ever again — made some controversial comments about American troops at an Iraq War protest. Specifically, he said: "Kill those fucking Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives / Kill those fucking Yankees who ordered them to torture / Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers / Kill them all slowly and painfully." Bret Easton Ellis: "Hurt Locker" wouldn't have won the Oscar if directed by a man Posted: 07 Dec 2012 12:56 PM PST LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - Bret Easton Ellis defended his belief that Oscar-winner Kathryn Bigelow is "overrated" because she's "hot." In fact, he says, she won the Academy Award because she's a woman. "I still believe that if 'The Hurt Locker' had been directed by a man it would not have won the Oscar for best director," the "American Psycho" writer tweeted. But that's not all: Apparently, he also believes that "The Hurt Locker," with its plot about a bomb squad in Iraq, suffered from a "female tone. ... |
