Pilot Clayton Osbon "moved through the aircraft and was disruptive and had to be subdued and forcibly restrained from re-entering the cockpit" during the flight from New York to Las Vegas, the federal indictment said. The unusual indictment of an airline pilot was filed on Wednesday in U.S. ... |

IF YOU LOVED BUSH'S FOREIGN POLICY, YOU'LL LOVE ROMNEY'S Posted: WASHINGTON -- My colleagues in the press have been obsessing over Mitt Romney's money. And, yes, I suppose that $250 million is a lot to have for a man who apparently can't afford an extra car to carry his dog. But the predominant criticism -- that "Mittens," as they call him on the press bus, can't "feel our pain" because of his money -- is about as insipid as it gets.We don't need a president to feel our pain. When I'm in pain, I'll go to a friend, to a psychiatrist or to a doctor. When we need some leadership, I'll look for someone who can RELIEVE the nation's pain. ... |

Massachusetts man convicted of aiding al Qaeda to be sentenced Posted: BOSTON (Reuters) - Prosecutors contend that a Massachusetts man convicted of conspiring to support al Qaeda should serve at least 25 years in prison but defense lawyers said their client's actions hurt no one, according to court filings before his sentencing on Thursday. Tarek Mehanna, 29, was found guilty in December on all seven charges against him, including four related to terrorism. IEA says oil market fundamentals easing Posted: LONDON (Reuters) - The oil market has broken a two-year cycle of tightening supply conditions, the International Energy Agency (IEA) said on Thursday, as demand softens and Saudi Arabia increases output in response to tensions with Iran. The agency said in its monthly report that there had potentially been a rise in global oil stocks of 1 million barrels per day (bpd) over the last quarter, and the impact on prices had not yet been fully realised. "The cycle of repeatedly tightening fundamentals since 2009 has been broken for now," it said. ... |

Analysis: Romney defines hawkish yet murky foreign policy Posted: WASHINGTON (Reuters) - As he locks down the Republican nomination for U.S. president, Mitt Romney is framing what looks to be a decidedly hawkish foreign policy. But should the former Massachusetts governor defeat Democratic President Barack Obama in November, it remains far from clear how he actually would tackle what his own website describes as a "bewildering array of threats and opportunities." More clear is the strategy that Romney plans to use to try to diminish Obama's record on foreign policy. ... |
