A Military Draft Would Help Prevent Shooting Sprees Posted: COMMENTARY | According to Good Morning America, there were lots of problems in the life of the 38-year-old Army staff sergeant who went on a nighttime shooting spree that killed 16 Afghans. The man was on his fourth combat deployment in 10 years, with the first three being to Iraq. He had suffered a "mild traumatic brain injury" in the past, but he had been cleared for duty. He had marital problems after previous deployments to Iraq, though was also cleared for duty with officials determining that he had worked through those problems. |
